Pricing and Booking Questions
Money questions come up before anything else, so they lead the page. One price, agreed in writing, before any tools come out of the van.
Call (07) 3523 6428How much does a plumbing job cost?
Every job is priced with a fixed quote before any work starts, so the figure you approve in writing is the figure you pay, whatever the job turns out to involve.
How do I pay?
Payment happens on site once the job is finished and you have checked the work, and we take card and EFTPOS, so nothing needs arranging in advance or chasing later.
What changes the price of a job?
Access usually drives the quote, because cramped spaces beneath low-set floors, retaining walls on sloping blocks, and ageing pipes each push up the labour and materials required.
Are you licensed for plumbing and gas?
Yes, the work runs under QBCC No: 15024607, which covers plumbing and drainage as well as gasfitting, so water, drain and gas jobs all stay inside the one licence.
Services and Repairs
Plenty of callers ring unsure which category their job falls under. These answers sort the everyday repairs from the bigger jobs and point you to the right page for detail.
Call (07) 3523 6428What plumbing jobs do you cover?
Dripping taps, running cisterns, bathroom and kitchen plumbing, hidden leak tracing, gas fitting, drains and hot water all sit inside our range, and the services page lists them job by job.
Do you do gas work?
Gasfitting sits inside the same licence as the plumbing, covering appliance installs, bayonet points and repairs, so gas jobs stay with our team instead of going to a separate contractor.
Can you find a leak I can't see?
Hidden leaks behind walls, under floors or out in the yard are traced as a dedicated leak detection service, so the repair targets the source rather than the damp patch it leaves.
Can you replace an old hot water system?
Repairs and full replacements both sit in the hot water section, where the replacement page walks through tanks, heat pumps and solar in plain terms with no brand names attached.
Emergency Questions
Emergencies follow their own rules, so they get their own group. The three things worth knowing are what counts as urgent, what to do first, and how booking works when it can't wait.
Call (07) 3523 6428What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you cannot stop, a sewer backing up indoors, a burst pipe flooding a room, no hot water through the whole house, or any smell of gas all need a call now.
What should I do while I wait?
Turn the water off at the meter if something is actively leaking and keep everyone clear of the wet area, and if gas is the problem, leave the property and ring from outside.
Can I get a plumber today?
Same-day where we can is the honest version, so ring early and we will do our best to get a plumber to you that day, with later calls rolling to the next slot.
What if the hot water goes cold overnight?
Check the pilot or the power first, because a cold tap does not always mean a dead tank, and the no-hot-water page lists the checks worth doing before you ring.
Local Conditions and Drains
The hillside ground and the age of the housing stock shape how plumbing behaves on this side of Brisbane's north. These answers cover the drain and flood questions that come with the territory.
Call (07) 3523 6428Why do drains block so often around here?
Much of the earliest pipework is earthenware from the 1966 Housing Commission streets, and its shifted joints catch roots and wipes on the sloping blocks, so the drainage page explains the fix.
Which streets are flood-prone?
Council's creek flood planning area takes in the Sungate Estate streets near Fred Francis Park, Brookvale Place and Greendale Place among them, and Aldea Circuit on the western side is also exposed.
Who looks after the water mains and sewer?
Urban Utilities looks after the public sewer and the street water mains, while everything on the property side of the connection, from the meter to the toilets and drains, belongs to the owner.
How do I book a plumber?
Ring (07) 3523 6428 and tell us what's happening, because a few quick questions up front means the right parts come on the first visit and the quote is settled before any work starts.
